Our Team

Matthew Porter, Executive Director

Matt recently joined the Westobou team as Executive Director. Previously Porter has served as the Curator of Education at the Morris Museum of Art, where he has worked for 14 years focusing on public programs, outreach and education. Outside of the Morris he has been responsible for curating exhibitions, events and happenings in and around Augusta at places like the Mary S. Byrd Gallery at Augusta University, ATHICA, and other community spaces. A long-time collaborator and partner in local arts institutions he hopes to share the enthusiasm he has for Augusta with an eye for accessible, contemporary, and forward thinking arts.

Bethany Marshall,

Programs Director

Bethany Marshall joined the Westobou team in 2015 after graduating from Augusta University with a desire to find a creative role in the community. She found it! As the Programs Director, she can be seen running around setting up for an array of events and gallery openings. Behind the scenes, where she prefers, Bethany wears many other hats for the organization.

Baillie Conway,

Gallery Preparator

Baillie joined the Westobou team after graduating from Augusta University. As an artist, he has an eye for detail and is the reason our gallery exhibitions always look amazing. You can also see him working at his family’s frame shop in Aiken and Augusta. Follow him on social media to see the Adventures of Legoman.
