Through the convergence of technology and traditional mediums, Genevieve explores the dynamic relationship between humanity, nature, and the virtual realm. Drawing upon her background in computer science, research, and passion for artistic expression, she delves into the realms of science and the arts to find innovative ways to incorporate sustainability into her works with photography, discarded technological artifacts, and organic elements. Her work has been shown in the Augusta and Atlanta areas at multiple venues and galleries. Upcoming Exhibition: TBD - February 2026 at Westobou Gallery</image:caption>

<image:caption>Dylan Smeak Dylan Smeak is an artist born and raised in Augusta, Georgia. His work explores the thick, sticky layers of cultural residue left by time and the haze of nostalgia evoked by objects as simple as worn stickers, old logos, and bygone technological devices. In his practice, Dylan relies heavily on the immediacy of airbrushing, combining the blue-collar, utilitarian techniques of set designers and automotive painters with the time-tested methods of classical painters. <image:caption>Devin Lovett For the past four years Devin Lovett has been practicing art professionally in the city of Augusta, GA. Beginning with traditional sketches and line work he has evolved into acrylic, then to traditional oil painting. Devin has shown his work in multiple galleries across the Augusta area and Metro Atlanta, and has also had his work auctioned on multiple occasions. His style has evolved from expressionistic acrylic work to the more contemporary oil painting that he does today. Most of his work portrays stark forms combined with loose brushstrokes to create a chiseled effect that evokes a sense of macabre or melancholy. But you can also find more experimental work that are both thought provoking, and on occasion, unintentionally political. https://pseudstudios.com/ Exhibition: Immaculate - February 2023 at Westobou Gallery</image:caption>

      <image:title>Westobou Gallery - History of 1129</image:title>
<image:caption>Originally built in 1916, the basic architecture - long and narrow with high ceilings - of 1129 Broad Street mirrors many of the retail spaces found on the street, many of which were built just after the Great Fire that destroyed 25 square blocks of downtown that same year. With high ceilings, fancy millwork and large front windows that open onto iron balconies, the upper floors were used as residential units until the mid-1940s. Unlike the adjacent spaces, the upper floors of Westobou Gallery remain vacant today. Originally a grocery store, the ground floor, over the years was occupied by a shoemaker’s shop, a furniture store and a dry goods store. The longest, and most well-known, tenant was Simkins Seed Co. For more than 50 years, the Seed Co. was a recognized and beloved Broad Street anchor. Leroy Simkins Sr. operated the country store long after Augusta transitioned from an agricultural to an urban economy. Westobou Gallery, which opened in May 2015, has once again brought new life into a 100 year-old building. Westobou is proud to carry on the building’s tradition and share a piece of its rich history.</image:caption>

<image:caption>2025 Juror: Adam P. (AP) Faust is a creative based in Atlanta. He holds a BFA from Guilford College, where his 2014 sculpture thesis featured found object sculptures inspired by explorations in dreams, memory, and the woods of Durham and Greensboro, North Carolina. After graduating, Faust embraced collage as his primary art form, delving into surrealist explorations of the subconscious through dreams and automatism. He utilizes collage to reshape narratives by repurposing physical media in his own work and shares collage as a technique to overcome creative blocks, teach collaboration, and facilitate communication through professional workshops and community-based projects. Faust has presented his work at Kolaj Fest New Orleans 2024, for Collage Artists of America, and was in last year's SEEDS X at Westobou. Earlier this year, he showcased a decade's worth of collage work in his debut solo exhibition, IT'S ABOUT TIME. He continues to exhibit in group shows, mostly around the Atlanta area, energized by the synergy of the creative community. Currently, Faust serves as the Operations Director at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. In this role, he curates exhibitions and programs in collaboration with various Atlanta arts organizations, educators, and artists at all stages of their careers. Highlights of his curatorial work include producing an exhibition of Howard Finster's work, Shannon McCollum's FILA retrospective, Alice Woodruff's Warrior Women, and curating Echoes: 100 Years of Surrealism's Influence. He juried the Atlanta High School Art Show as a part of the Atlanta Dogwood Festival this spring, and is excited to return to Augusta this Fall for SEEDS 11.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Aort Reed Aort Reed was born in Augusta, Georgia in 1982. His parents, being from two different parts of the world, created an interesting ecosystem for him to learn & dwell. His mom, Anna Phimsoutham, was a native of Bangkok, Thailand and his father, Oscar Reed, a native of Augusta, Georgia. As a child, Aort’s imagination ran wild with all kinds of colorful imagery and exciting ideas. Any surface that he could find automatically became his canvas. Whether it was blank pages at the beginning of a book, his grandmother’s recipes, or even the walls of his closet, he made sure that he expressed what was in his mind’s eye. Being biracial had a big impact on Aort’s creativity. Combined cultures enabled diversity throughout his childhood which broadened his perspective and paved the way for the rest of his life and artistic journey. After grade school, Aort attended three different colleges but ended up earning his BFA in painting and drawing at Augusta State University (AU). During the early years of his creative credibility, Aort’s work was selected for two juried art exhibitions, one in 2012 and another in 2014. This also marked the time period his work began to take off conceptually. As a result, his artwork became published in magazines, online platforms, social media, and news articles, and continues to be featured today. For example, multiple large-scale local mural works (including Georgia Cyber Center & Jackie M’s & Son Restaurant) have recently been shown in the 2020 Augusta Visitors Bureau Experience Guide as well as the 6 o’clock news on channel 12. Today, Aort expresses that inspiration comes from multiple sources; “I could name multiple artists from throughout the history of Fine Art, but I think that would be too typical. Outside of artists, what really drives me the most is empiricism, emotions, and communication. All three sort of create somewhat of a diary or pictorial journal of the journey”. www.aortreed.com</image:caption>

<image:caption>Syd Padgett Syd Padgett currently lives in Augusta GA but grew up across the border of Johnston, SC. Syd has studied art at Lander University, USC Aiken and The Savannah College of Art and Design. He served as president of Artist Row, founded the Riverfront Arts Festival and served on the board of the Augusta Photography Festival. Syd developed an interest in photography during a trip to the Columbia Zoo back in 2nd grade. Syd's current photographic obsession is a process dating back to the 1850's called wet plate collodion. This labor-intensive process was created in England by Francis Scott Archer. It involves a glass plate coated with a light sensitive liquid emulsion. The photograph is taken and immediately developed while still wet. Some of the equipment he uses is 100 years old while other parts are 3D printed, a wonderful mix of old and new. Syd states “This unpredictable and complicated procedure takes so much time to set up and process. I have to go slow and be very meticulous. I usually get 4-6 plates an hour so I have to think carefully about composition and exposure. The “Spray and Pray” method of digital photography just won’t work” @sightbound</image:caption>

Choi has two children in Marietta, GA and she is currently an Assistant Professor in Painting & Drawing in the Department of Art & Design at Augusta University in Augusta, GA.</image:caption>
